K30 values??

I found a 71 or 72 Chevy K/30 sitting in the storage lot that I keep my travel trailer in, the fender badges say 350, it has a 4 spd, tach in the dash, and bucket seats, and roof marker lights. Hasnt been registered in 10 years and looks like it's been sitting that long too. I'm going to try and get ahold of the owner this week, I dont want to insult the owner when I make an offer to buy it, is there anywhere that i could figure what it might be worth? I was thinking $1500 or so. I'm not even sure that it runs....

Re: K30 values??

Hard to tell without more info and pics. I am guessing it will be a K20 unless someone built this one. If you are thinking $1500 i would say that is a good price with those options. Good luck.

Re: K30 values??

Try not to offer him anything. Start by asking what he is going to do with the truck ( get him talking about it). Tell him you have been looking for one like his and if you found one what do you think I should pay for it. The more he talks the more you will know what he is thinking.
Hope that helps Paul

These guys are correct. The only 67-72 K-30s out there are NAPCO built. WES

Re: K30 values??

If you can get that for $1500, better jump on it. Buddy buckets, 4 speed tilt, tach dash. Looks pretty solid. Good luck...

Re: K30 values??

It is clearly pieced together out of 2 or more trucks, but it has potential. It looks like the chassis is a '67 - '68 K20. Just the cab is from the C30.

Re: K30 values??

Re: K30 values??

It is definately made from a few different trucks. As mentioned, the 30 series wouldn't be a 4x4. Looks like a rockwell trans case which would be 67-69. The seats are 67-68. The tilt would be 70-72 if correct. The cab appears to be a 72. Many good parts however...

Re: K30 values??

Yah the doors are 72 also. The floor hump has a rockwell location shifter. The position the floor tranny shifter I believe is a six cylinder engine position also. The locking hubs are older spicer style common the the 67-69 era. I'd say look underneath at the front diff and you'll probably see a closed knunkle dana 44 old style and drum brakes. Not a 72 chassis from what I see. Has a decent combination of options so the owner knew some of the finer details in these trucks.
