Wheels?
It's time for new tires on my '82 GMC C2500. I've been looking on ebay and craigslist 'cause I'm tired of being ripped off by tire shops. I keep seeing pretty nice late model stock aluminum takeoffs with decent rubber on them. Does anybody know if the offset is the same or if they will work without any trouble?

Welcome to the forum kwlskid. Yes the later model wheels will work, but you will need specific lug nuts.

Like ken said they will work and you'll need conversion lug nuts they are also very narrow and will look tucked in.

^^^I agree with Ken and Adam. They will fit, they do have more positive offset so they will fit "tuck in" more, and you will have to get the conversion lugnuts to keep the stock center caps. They do look good on them though. There are a couple of guys on here who have them, or have had them in the past.

Thanks guys! I hate to buy stuff just to find it doesn't work.
I probably could have asked this in my initial question but I didn't think about it at the time. Staying with a 16" rim (very likely the above mentioned 16 X 6.5) what is the widest tire that could be used and not rub anything? Also, what about using a shim/spacer so that they are not so "tucked in"? Thanks again and happy wednesday!
