New guy with a cool story and a 68 c10

Hi everybody! Name is Robbie. The Eastern Shore of Maryland is where I call home, but I am currently in west Tennessee going to college. My coach here at school had this old 68 sittin on his property and I asked if he was going to do anything. Well, a couple years later I buy the thing from him for a dollar.

Here is one picture for now.....

Can anybody help me find out what engine is in this thing? It has a 2 barrel on it, but has a canister style oil filter and the oil filler is in the front of the motor through the intake.

And I also got a number off the front passenger side of the block. It was V0502WG. And here is a picture off the front of the passenger side head.

G'day and welcome from down under.

Great first post... champion pix.

What a great buy for a dollar - I am very jealous.

Are you going to rebuild the old motor or replace it?

Welcome from NW Washington. Yeah for '68. Looks like you have a project in front of you. Are you keeping it original?

Wow, very nice. Looks like perfect shop truck material. Looking forward to more pics. Where do you go to school?

And, as for the engine, I'm guessing 327, but that's just a guess.

Welcome to the Board. That's a sweet deal on that truck. It probably wouldn't take much to get it running. What seat is in it and can you read the sticker in the glove box?

Post the numbers that are on the bellhousing area of the block beside the distributer. Most likely a 327 2V. Cant beat a $1 on any purchase. Did you finance it? Welcome and Good Luck with your resto.
