I was to busy drooling over the price and wishing it was near me to notice. Now that you mention it is either a 68 or it had the front cap replaced. Regardless though, still a really nice deal.

Re: Ok, whos the thief?

just looking at the photos, the lights were installed after being built. They aren't in the correct location, and they are sitting on top of the sheetmetal, not sunk in a 1/4 inch.

Re: Ok, whos the thief?

looks like a true 67 with a big back window to me, those markers were probably just screwed on or something, I would have loved to have gotten that truck!

Re: Ok, whos the thief?

That truck lived in Komi-fornia...see the smog pump mounted on the motor? GM may have had to 'add' those lights to comply with the Communist state laws there (yes, even then they sucked...)

I wasn't alive when the truck was delivered, but my 72 has 3 point seat belts and some other garbage added to be allowed on the roads there...just my best guess...(about the lights that is..)

All vehicles built prior to 76 are smog exempt in California....glad I live here

please refrain from the polictical chit-chat... not allowed on the site.

good buy for a loaded up truck, it's a 67 based on not having eyebrow or hood trim and the design of the buddy buckets (Vertical stitch vs the 68's had an inset panel) too...

That's the first I recall hearing about 3-point belt requirements in a '72 truck. My '72 has always been a Calif truck and has lap belts only.

Re: Ok, whos the thief?

Cali didn't require 3 point belts, not till 76 or so... like the rest of the US.
They also didn't require reflectors or lights added on the fenders either.
This was just something a previouse owner wanted, either for style, or for safety.

Re: Ok, whos the thief?

I learned this from this website 2 weeks ago.. Check out the bezels around the ignition switch and the cigarette lighter. They are small on this truck, correct for 67. In 68 and beyond the bezels were much larger in diameter.
