finally...made a few changes

between now having (3) jobs, and 3 feet of snow, i finally got a chance a few weeks ago to change the front rad support, thought i'd share a pic

....next will be lowering it here in a few weeks when pcmcobra hooks me up w/his lowering components, then i'm putting on a new 4 core radiator i bought, and the mounting brackets, fan shroud

just aint crazy about the GMC grille/bezels....i'd much rather have the chevrolet one

what do you guys think?

Re: finally...made a few changes

Since you asked...I like the old one better. NICE truck regardless (I really like it), but I am tired of the 88+ clip swaps on 87 down trucks.

I like them both. I like the headlights better on the newer front end.

Re: finally...made a few changes

I like the grille in the top pic...but the other doesn't look bad at all either. Looking good, keep up what you are doing. I can't wait to lower mine. make sure and give us some lowered pics when you get it done.

I plan on keeping my 86 grill, might put a phantom grill on it though, depends on how I like it when its all said and done.

Re: finally...made a few changes

The truck is coming along nicely. But I do for some reason think the Chevy grill would just "fit" better. The nice thing is that there are a handfull of guys on here looking for the GMC set up. So you should be able to do some trading of parts to get a Chevy one if you so decide. Keep at it man! It is gonna be sweet to see what you do with this truck.

Re: finally...made a few changes

I prefer the GMC grille. I just like the larger opening.

So if you change it out, I want the GMC one .

If your going to keep the late model clip then stick with the GMC grill. Add a billet insert and a billet bowtie to break it up a bit. Update the bllinkers and headlights to set it off.....

Re: finally...made a few changes

What are you doing with your old core support and grill, lights, bezels, etc... Maybe we can work something out.

Re: finally...made a few changes

I know I'm chiming in late, but thought I would add my .02.

I usually like the newer Chevrolet grill better than the GMC. However, on some trucks the GMC one looks good. Yours is one of them. On another note, I'm kind of like Jeff. I think I'm going to leave mine the 85-87 style, or maybe with a billet grill. Just to be different than the popular newer change. I'm really on the fence though because each configuration and style looks good.
