I finally bit the bullet and cut my dash and installed a mp3 cd player and mounted two 4" Pioneer speakers where the stock speaker used to be. I couldnt me more happyer. I love it. I plan on getting the kick pannel speaker plates and putting 6.5" Pioneers in there and possibly putting 6x9s in the doors. Let me know what u think guys. Thanks

Its hard to hack, but worth it in the end aint it?
I installed 6 1/2" Polk audio seperates, with the
Woofer in the door panel below the window
crank, and the tweeters are mounted on the
painted surface below the vent window.

The system sounds awesome, and crystal clear..

Congrats!!

That looks really good, it doesn't look like you even have the issue with having small indentations around the unit like most people have. Welcome to the "Dash-hacker's club" lol. I have two 4" Pioneers in the dash as well, and 6.5"s in kick panel pods I got from Wes. It sounds great.

You switched to the dark side. Oh well, at least you got tunes. I don't have any at all, but I still can't bring myself to cutting the dash. Looks good.

How hard do those 12's hit since they are not in boxes?

I too cut my dash, but all I have are 2 6x9's.

unless i was putting together a perfectly restored factory original show truck i wont think twice about cutting the dash to put in the cd player and cutting the doors to put speakers in. theres no reason to worry about what other people think about it just do with it what you want its your truck and you should build it the way you want it
