Speedometer trouble 68 3 speed
I have noticed lately that my speedometer is off. As I increase my speed the variance increases. For example at 30mph I am actually going 40 at 50 I am going 65. I have the original speedometer, cable and transmission, my truck is lowered and I am running 17" wheels. The tire height is close to the factory height from what I can find.
Anyone else have this problem before? Thanks

Re: Speedometer trouble 68 3 speed
I would have to say check to make sure the cable is all the way in the trans and all the way in the speedometer. I have had this problem before on these trucks and It seems to always be something with the cable when I have had to fix it.
Have you taken it apart at all previously to your problem? |

Re: Speedometer trouble 68 3 speed
It has been a year or two since I messed with the transmission, I replaced the clutch, could have not attached the cable correctly. Dont recall if that is when my problem started.
Thanks for the reply, I will check into this and see if this is the problem.
