Question 4x4: Crossmember under motor???

I was woundering if i could take out the crossmember thats under that motor that bolts to the frame and lower part of the engine brackets would the engine be in a any danger? Would it flex the enigne mount brackets to where putting back the crossmember might cause me some trouble? thanks

I don't think that is a good idea! Without the crossmember there would not be enough mount to hold the engine under load. And the frame might flex way to much. Why are you wanting to take the crossmember out?

well if ur not gonna be driving it anywhere i dont see it being a problem as long as u support the frame with jack stands. i wouldnt drive the truck without the crossmember but in a 4x4 i think the crossmember comes out easier than lifting the motor up and fighting it the whole way

I got a buyer but I had the gasket sitting in my tool box for a while so I'm just going to drop it in.

We just sold Jessica, our 67 swb. I just want to get these trucks out of the way and focus on Britney.
