Bagged 57 panel truck, BBC 496

I am helping build this truck for a friend of mine. It is a 1957 Chevrolet panel truck. When he bought it, it had a straight six and a four speed. The truck has been tubed to fit the 22" wide tires, four link, with a 9" f**d rear end by Fast Chassis . The front of the frame was chopped off and a later model Camaro sub frame with disc brakes was "Z" on to the truck frame.
I haven't found a picture of when he first got the truck, I will try to post one later.

This is it now

The tubs

we cut out the fire wall for the new engine

496 BBC with Edelbrock tunnel ram, and the start of the new smooth firewall

the back of the new firewall with original hood hinge braces

the new smooth firewall tacked in, laying out the floor in cardboard

Bagged 57 panel truck, BBC 496

When they built the frame the front sub-frame of the Camaro is boxed and the rear 4-link is boxed, there is a section of the origional frame in the middle, about two feet, that was left un-boxed.

before

plate tacked in

the trans x-member mounts to the plate so the nuts get welded to the back of the plate

I dont have verry good pictures of the rear 4-link and air bags. When it gets back in Tims shop on the lift I will take some better pictures.

The original gauges dont work

so I came up with this.

brushed stainless behind auto meter pro comp gauges. vintage air controls and a double din radio/DVD player. smooth dash.

Wow! Very impressive photo gallery. What kind of bags are you running on the front? Looks like 2600! I have 2600 that I was going to use but was not sure if they would have the clearance.

Re: Bagged 57 panel truck, BBC 496

not a whole lot of work done lately. I have been working on my truck over the summer before school starts.

We got most of the body work done on the passenger side, just need to decide what kind of tail lights and fix the bottom of the door
