Need Help : Accelerator cable install

I just bought a 72 with a bocthed up throttle cable. I bought a new cable but can't figure out how to get the cable through the pedal arm. can anyone help? i did a search and could find the answer.

There is a plastic sleeve on the cable that keeps it from going through the hole in the pedal arm. Pull the cable out and push the sleeve out of the hole. There is a slot in the plastic sleeve that will allow you to remove the sleeve. Once the sleeve is off of the cable the end of the cable can be pulled through the hole in the pedal arm.

thanks jim, my new one has a much larger sleeve, with no slot. do i just use the old sleeve?

Yes, just use the old sleeve. The new one must be made for a slotted pedal arm.
