700R4 Fitment?

Will a 700r4 bolt up to a 72 350? If so,will the stock drive shaft work? I have a chance to get a free 700r4 from a wrecked truck.

Re: 700R4 Fitment?

if you have an original turbo350 with the correct 6"tail you'd need to shorten the driveshaft a few inches

Will the 700r4 bell housing bolt right up to the 72 350 sb? I do have the 350 turbo tranny in the truck now,but its begining to slip.

Re: 700R4 Fitment?

The 700R4 is longer than the typical TH350 so you will either have to shorten the drive shaft, move the engine forward, or see if you can find a short tail shaft for the 700R4. I am running a 350 w/700R4 in my 72K20 and I love it!
