Re: 3-Speed Floor Shifter
We carry some Spectre products but not the shifters. Nothing wrong with them but we like to sell the higher quality shifters. These will work for everyday use but I don't like them for any hard use for racing. Just my opinion though. Ive seen them for the low $20.00 for sale. Its really just a universal fit shifter

Re: 3-Speed Floor Shifter
I was going to get one (floor shifter for 3ott) and was talked out of it by these folks. Said its hard to get adj. still a 3spd. and the shifter is pretty close to the seat. Now im not talking from experience. just word of mouth. You can get new shfiter bushings and theres an faq on setting up the 3 spd linkage....

Re: 3-Speed Floor Shifter
I replaced my 3ott shifter with a Mr. Gasket floor shifter. I used a part #7667A shifter that is 18" tall and clears my bench nicely. Took a while to get the shifter arms bent perfectly but works great. Not made for speed shifting though. Mines a 67 with the old non-synchro tranny.

Re: 3-Speed Floor Shifter
Hear itis the best that i can do.. It took about 1 1/2 hours to put in if you have a helper it nice so that way you can put the shifter in the place that you like it for the gears.. good luck with the install.

Re: 3-Speed Floor Shifter
Here's a little tip for you. The bolt that runs through the center of the shifter body and then through the bracket will loosen up over time just from normal shifting. Will make the shifter sloppy after awhile.
I'ts in the 3rd pic. The through bolt with the flat and lock washer. Get a bolt a 1/2 inch longer, drill a hole through it and install a cotter key. It'll never back off again. The lock washer won't keep it tight for long. I've done this on 2 shifters so far after a tip from a buddy with the same sloppy shifter syndrome on his 57 Belair. Awesome pics by the way. Love the straight rods on the full synchro tranny. Non synchro tranny you need to bend them to clear. |

These pics were fantastic and are the only reason for being able to successfully install our shifter! Thanks for posting them!

Re: 3-Speed Floor Shifter
They could have been deleted, or moved, or the account closed, but that is what happens when the pictures are hosted on a site like Photobucket instead of uploaded to this site.... It makes the thread pretty much worthless. That is why I encourage people on here to upload images directly to the board. LockDoc
