Dual Leaf Spring Set Up
A friend of mine was telling me about some idea he heard of, it in involved one leafspring mounted to the axle housing normally and another leaf spring mounted upside down on that one and then attached to the frame. Could this actually work and how bout safety and control?

Re: Dual Leaf Spring Set Up
It is called 3/4 elliptical suspension. It is done a lot in rock crawling. It is not the greatest of setups though. It has been done but there is no driveline in the world that will compensate for the pinion angle that setup puts out. In other words, your pinion will be everywhere.

Re: Dual Leaf Spring Set Up
Just because of the pinion angle, axle wrap, vibrations. And if you gas it hard you lift the ass of the truck, shoot your pinion up, and possibly brake your driveline.
