I need help!
Hey guys! Can anyone help me with decoding my 68 GMC? It seems to have an extra number in the vin and also a weird symbol that kinda looks like an 8. Vin # is C9E2481119601. Everywhere I look, the second digit (9) shouldn't be there, but it is. Also, like I said, the sixth digit (8) isn't raised up like the other numbers and letters and it almost looks like a symbol. Thanks.

c9e2481119601
c = 4x2 9 = ? E = v8 gas 2 = 3/4 ton 4 = pickup with cab and bed 8 = 1968 1 = oshawa (assembly plant) 119601 = vehicle serial number both of your trucks came from the same plant interesting lol hope this helps |

Re: I need help!
Hey guys thanks for your help with the vin issue. I'll keep looking around and let you know. I read somewhere that the T in the front of the vin meant it was a GMC - 1972 model year.

Another vin question
So, the numbers at the end of my vin 119601 means that it was the 19,601 truck built that year? Did they really build that many at one plant?

Parts & Accessories
Any of you guys who live in Canada ever order stuff for for your truck? If so, is there a place in Canada to order from? I just ordered an $18 mirror from the states and its gonna cost me $75 bucks to get it here. It has to be cheaper to ship in Canada then it is from the States, not?
