What did you get done 4/4 Easter/Passover edition
I didnt do anything 82 related. I drove the S10 last week and it was squeaking so i inspected the brakes and found nothing wrong and i decided to shampoo the dirty seats and floor on that.. amazingly they are not black seats they are grey and the floor is not mud brown its black...
did find out the heater core has a leak or something else that makes the passenger side floor wet How about you all?

Re: Wat did you get done 4/4 Easter/Passover edition
I took the cab off of my parts truck and cut the front of the frame off...I also took the bed loose, just gotta get someone come help guide it while I take it off with the backhoe...87 chevy silverado on here came over to my house to get some parts...he's a good guy...me and him chewed the fat for a little while...besides that not much more...I'm going to go out to the crew cab in a minute and try and install the driver's door glass and regulator that I pulled earlier

Re: Wat did you get done 4/4 Easter/Passover edition
Another busy weekend.
Now that all the concrete work is complete i cleaned up my backyard and spread some dirt around. A friend of mine dropped off a new rear end I'll be installing in the Heap. The rear is a 10 bolt with a brand new Richmond Gear 4:10, bearings, brakes, E-brake cables, everything is new. The 4:10 and my 700R should get along very well and help improve my around town fuel mileage. Made fuel lines for my S-10 and began the process of cleaning her up under the hood. The billet and chrome under the hood didn't do too well while parked outside on the grass. Thankfully my parking on the grass days are over. I purchased a fuse panel cover (firewall side) from bigblock73, it arrived earlier in the week. Very well made piece, hopefully I'll get it installed next weekend. Back to work Monday for some rest. LOL

Re: Wat did you get done 4/4 Easter/Passover edition
I negotiated a deal for a parts truck that has already been mostly parted out. The goodies left on it will make it worth my while. The front end got bent and I noticed the main front crossmember cracked which is very odd. I'll post pics when I get a chance. Got to get it home yet to finish it off.
I rebuilt the carb on my 250/6 and I'm only half impressed with how that came out. I should have noted the metering rod size for referrance while I had it appart. As it turns out it's still on the lean side. Better than it was but not perfect. Last edited by 1LowToy; 04-04-2010 at 08:11 PM. |

Cut a half a coil off front springs to level the ride height/clean up 20+ years of grease and rust on the front suspension and steering. Followed by using the truck to go pick up my T5 trans and accessories for the project car. I love having a truck again!

Re: Wat did you get done 4/4 Easter/Passover edition
I took all the Ralleys off and gave them a good sanding and then gave them a freah coat of silver and clear.. Then took all the sills off and gave them a coat of black paint...repainted the rockers where you step and also took the kickpanels off and the brake/gas pedals and cleaned them before reinstalling them...Gave the inside of the truck a good cleaning...Still need to get on the carpet.....

Re: Wat did you get done 4/4 Easter/Passover edition
well i finished up my train horn under my truck and got it all up and running, I also attempted to put the camaro swaybar on the rear of the truck but it didn't work. I also added a toolbox in the back of my truck but im not sure if im keeping it or not so i didnt bolt it in yet. And i got her all washed up for the weekly hangout but i never got there. That was friday. Saturday i took my dash apart to find out why my speedo stopped working turns out the angle of the cable kinked it and just broke the cable at the bend, i bought a shorter one and put the dash back together. I also added the wire connected to my radio for the ipod. while i was changing the speedo wire i cleaned up some of the wires underneathe the hood. And today i just spent time with the family and realxed at home.

Re: Wat did you get done 4/4 Easter/Passover edition
hey no problem...Timmy had to goto an Easter thing once yall left...I took the bolts out...funny thing is the rear bolts came out like butter...anyways, when Timmy got back it was too late to yank the bed, so we're going to get it off tomorrow...I already got some tires out in the yard to set it on...I did actually get the driver's window propped up in the crewcab after you left...I want to get all new weatherstripping and window channels and all before I put the window tracks and regulator back in...

Re: What did you get done 4/4 Easter/Passover edition
went to a car show Saturday night and on the way home the throttle cable popped off the bracket wile I was on the high way trying to romp on but no go lucky the cable was still pulling on the carburetor about 1/4 throttle with peddle on the floor so I had to limp it home at 50 or so, wile getting off the off ramp I was a little afraid driving it on the main road since I still had about 2 miles to go but luckily it made it home and inspected the throttle bracket and its all bent up so I added a hd zip till I get to fix it right

I went from this:
To this: This was a temporary fix. Tape, sand, and paint. The old trim was driving me nuts so we gave it a quick fix. Looks new in person. lol I'll get all new trim when the truck hits paint. New wind shield this week.

Re: What did you get done 4/4 Easter/Passover edition
not very much.... picked up a new bike went for a rip today... definitely need to send out the suspension to be tweaked a bit, after that it's time to hit the shore HARD... and wait for sun peaks to open.

Re: What did you get done 4/4 Easter/Passover edition
staggerd86c, hot trux, West Texas Z- Looks like a lot of Spring cleaning going on. Nice work folks.
I worked on my yard some Saturday, then met my daughter for a late lunch. Saturday evening I made some progress on my bathroom remodel. Sunday I washed the drivers and went to my Bro-in-Laws house for Easter festivities. Lots of good company and great food. Sunday evening I did touch up on the bathroom, and hung the new light fixture. It much easier to work with real lights rather than flashlight's.
