Drunk While Building Roll Bar?
This Blazer is on Ebay and this roll bar is very odd. Might make driving a little dangerous.

Re: Drunk While Building Roll Bar?
Yeah that's what I was thinking. Since alot of folks on here say it's useless if not going to the frame, he thought that was how you were supposed to do it.

Re: Drunk While Building Roll Bar?
What's this cage supposed to do now? It's useless..... With a bend at that degree if it rolls it's gonna collapse at that bend. That was bad engineering all around. It should have tied to the frame like mine (although it's very difficult with the rocker boxes there):

Re: Drunk While Building Roll Bar?
I am glad I am not the only person that came across a poorly built roll cage. I know the blazer is the wrong vintage but it is worth a look! I bought this blazer from the junkyard to part out before they crushed it. I couldnt believe my eyes when I took a close look at the roll bar. It was welded directly to the floor and to the insides of the doors. It wasnt even strong enough to lift the body off the frame, when we hooked a chain up to it the whole thing just crumbled. Not only was it terribly ugly, it would have never been functional. And you couldnt open the doors cause the bar was welded to it.

Re: Drunk While Building Roll Bar?
My little brother loved it, I made him ride in it when it was about 30 degrees outside and I towed him about 5 miles down the highway. He was wishing they would have left the windsheild in it. If you look really closely they didnt even trim both dooors the same, one was flush with the window track and one was up at the top of the door. Real smart. I had never seen a roll bar that didnt have a single bend in it but I guess it would work as well as anything.
