Just curious about rebuilding a set of these and if anyone here can provide pics of the process or before and afters. Also has anyone fabricated a set out of tubing or flat materials.

Mine are going to be fabbed in a similar manner... just not as beefy. I will be going the dimple-die'd route. No pics yet cuz they are still an autocad drawing on another computer. It's nice to have a family member with a full on fab shop - tube shark, cnc plasma table, mill, lathe, MIG & TIG, etc. Hope to get cutting next weekend!

P.S. : Porterbuilt makes tube ones!

ok check ebay and my build thread you can buy nascar trailing arms for a $100 to you door..why rebuild......

mine were completely shot and only used them for measurements to fab a new set and the sleve for the bushings. I beat the crap out of them before tearing my truck apart and they are fine. I know a lot of people plate the top and bottom but I just put a plate at the spring location. I just cut mine and bent them to the corect angle and made a pie out of another piece of the square stock and welded it in.

A few members sell rustfree ones for $100 a set. Why go through the trouble of fixing them?

I have sold 5 rustfree sets for $100 a set in the last year.

Don't currently have any.

Become a subscribing member and post a WTB ad.

If the first set lasted this long, a 2nd set will last longer than you will own the truck.

Man - I'm so jealous. I can't remember the last time I saw a set of arms without all that pack rust in between the two halves. The northeast is not the place to look for parts...

One of mine was ugly, but savable, the other was shot. I ended up buying a set of custom arms and a c.memeber from Porterbuilt.

I like the restoration work shown above though. Good job.

its weird, i have never seen a rusty pair here in Colorado.

Same for So Cal. You have to almost give them away and they are always rust free.

I'm in Fla but I'll see what I can find there are a few pics on the sight here but pics are on my home puter....
