68 anniversary trucks
I'm going to ask a silly question. What constitutes an anniversary truck. Is it labeled, color,or options. My 68 is gold with a 327, 400 turbo. Someone painted over the white with brown. Could someone help me with that? Heck i was going to paint the truck red, but if it is an anniversary truck i will need to leave it gold.

Re: 68 anniversary trucks
You would have to check the glove box door for the paint code. I think it was 551.

Re: 68 anniversary trucks
I'm pretty sure all of them had a white and gold interior also. I know most did.

Re: 68 anniversary trucks
Have you tried looking for the build sheet stuck on the back of the seat?
Here's a link to a thread I started with the same question, my last post has a link to a couple pics of in, more specifically the interior which is unique to the 50ths. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=385565 Longhorn Man is the go to for distiguishing 50ths, maybe he'll chime in.

Re: 68 anniversary trucks
Does the interior look like this ? If yes then it's a 50th Note gold wheel ,Dash ,and visors. Hope this helps.

Re: 68 anniversary trucks
The glove thing isn't going to help me. I'm going to look for the build up sheet on the back up the seat. The trim on the seats are black with a plaid brown cloth. But it has black door panels.

Re: 68 anniversary trucks
It has gold visors, black dash pad. If its not i don't feel so bad about making some changes. lol. I just put a big block in it. I had to change the tunnel. I set of buddies would look great in it.

Re: 68 anniversary trucks
I say make it yours!!!! who cares what it could of been or was... the reason we own these trucks, is because we love the looks and memories they bring!!
I say do it up the way you see fit, you are building it for you correct? who cars about the next guy.... unless you are building it to sell... It's all about getting out of these trucks what makes US happy... and if we can sell them later.. then great... but if not.. O well!!! it was great fun building them & I enjoyed the hell out of driving it!!! Isn't this the reason we ALL own them????? its not just to sell them later is it??? It's to own them with pride and enjoy driving them with our own respected touches/highlights to them.... Good looking truck, but if it was mine, I would post pics of what I am doing to a great looking truck, looking for some positive feed back on the things you are doing adn the progess you are making!!! BigBlock = nice fun! but empty pockets ![]() |

Re: 68 anniversary trucks
I whole heartedly agree. I was just trying to decide on a color. If its a 50th I should leave it gold. Otherwise who cares. lol Yup Big Blocks rule>

Re: 68 anniversary trucks
I say if you like the gold and white go for it if you had your heart set on something else then that is what you should do . My 327 is not a 4-bolt main and it is factory and in my basement .... Most importantly have fun with it !!

Re: 68 anniversary trucks
I bought this truck from a kid that wanted to hop up his honda. Silly kid, it still had the drop in oil filter and the factory motor mount recall cable to the frame rail. I had a 72 black and white with a BBC from the factory. I had bought it in high school in Nebr, which was 25yrs ago. It was so rusted under I had decided to part the truck 3 months ago. It broke my heart to do so, it was such a part of my life. Hell i even got laid for my first time in that truck. lol funny. I transferred all the drivetrain, Disc brakes and Motor. I would love to paint my 68 Black. The body lines on these trucks are absolutely beautiful. This truck isn't that far off from being painted Black. My 72 had a white interior door panels, Visors and a white trim with a with a grey and black plaid seat. I have never seen a seat like that one. Like a young dumb ass, back in 86. I traded that seat for brackets for my buckets seat out of an import. I'm just kind of sentamental and old school the way things should be. A really bright red would really be cool, ferrari style. With a cream color around the headlights. Thanks for the ear everybody.

Re: 68 anniversary trucks
I would say do what you like with your truck. You are the one that has to enjoy it...
On a side note, the 327 didn't come in a 4 bolt main...
