Re: What Cam

I swear by the Comp 268 High Energy for a stockish rebuild. Here is my latest truck with one in a 327 engine.

Re: What Cam

You upgrading to a leight weight aftermarket two-plane intake and carb, along with a hotter spark dizzy as well?

Then maybe some headers to make it breathe better might help you as well.

Good luck.

Re: What Cam

Not to disagree with TX but, in my own experience, I had a 268 Comp Cam in a 305 and it worked really well, however, when I put it in a 350, it wasn't nearly as effective, I would go with a 280 or so next time.
I can see it working well in a 327, but then again, it also depends on other mods as well.

It has been "updated" I bought the truck for $1000 I know the motor is a 4 bolt main, It does have a edelbrock intake, and HEI with MSD 6al, I pulled the vavle covers and it has roller rockers. So I think it may have some work done?

Re: What Cam

Comp Cam 270H in my 350. Very nice lope an rumble but not to bad. Running headers with dual thrust mufflers gives me goose bumps thinking bout it. Gotta go crank it up now. )

Re: What Cam

I agree with the Comp 268 as a great choice.
I ran one in a 68 elcamino with a 327, basically stock set up and it ran great.

Or, find a Erson TQ-20! I have one in my burb's 327. Love that cam.
