Re: truck not starting

First off, Welcome to the board!

If you're getting power to the (purple I think) wire going to the 'S' terminal of the starter solenoid (Not the 'I'), then you need to look at the starter/solenoid.

You say that when you 'jump' the starter manually the bendix doesn't engage.. but does the motor spin? If so you have a problem with the bendix drive, since the 'throw' of the bendix is part of what engages the starter motor itself.

And again, be sure you're jumping from the center terminal (where the battery cable hooks up) to the 'S' terminal on the solenoid.

Good luck.

Re: truck not starting

If you have a full 12 volts of power going to the starter and it will not turn, then the starter is bad. If you do not even hear a click at the solenoid while putting power to it, then it may just be the solenoid that is bad. However, I usually just replace the entire starter.

Re: truck not starting

Neutral switch may be the culprit also.

Re: truck not starting

ok i have ruled out the starter and the solenoid they are good and work proper i was informed that it might be the fusable link or the ignition switch is that possible and if so which should try first thanks for the info i am very thankful
