Measuring Tailshaft?
I measured my Turbo 350 tranny tailshaft to see if it was 9" for my 700r4 swap. I measured from where it bolts to tranny to end of yolk. It is 9" between those two points. Did I measure it correctly? If so, the 700r4 is an easy swap with just moving the crossmember, Correct?

Re: Measuring Tailshaft?
no you didnt measure right// its from to the end of the casting ,yoke is additional
the original tailshafts in these trucks were all 6"tailshafts you need to move the crossmember and shorten driveshaft

Re: Measuring Tailshaft?
Thanks you very much. Mine is 6". Guess if I run the 700R4, I will have to have driveshaft shortened. Bummer.

Re: Measuring Tailshaft?
Hey CDowns, If I run the 200-4R, I don't have to modify driveshaft, is that right?

Re: Measuring Tailshaft?
no driveshaft mods required for the 224R just reposition crossmember
