Whining noise
Today I decided to floor my truck for the first time, And when it shifted from 1st to 2nd it made this whiny noise right when it shifted into 2nd and the same for 2nd to 3rd. I have an automatic transmission turbo hydromatic 300 or 350 i think.
Does anyone know what the problem may be? Thanks. Mitchel.

Re: Whining noise
That is what I was going to say. With the momentary unloading of the engine while it shifts it may just be a belt slipping a little. I would check your tranny fluid though. Be sure to check it at driving temp on a level surface.
I like to run it through the different gears once while stationary Park, reverse, drive, 2, 1 etc, right before I check it.
