Re: new truck!

If its backfiring thru the Carb. , very possibly is a bad power valve > pretty easy to replace . If its backfiring thru the exhaust could be a number of things . 1st thing Iwould do would be to replace plugs-wires -rotor cap on distributer -set timing correctly . Maybe some of the others could chime in here as well . Welcome from Va. > Ilike your truck > good luck

not sure what direction you plan on going with this, but I have some leafs from my 1/2 ton that you can have, I no longer need leafs as I went to a 4-link. I took a couple leafs out of each one though so it will lower the back a little bit. I'm only an hour north of you if you wanted to pick them up. you could also probably find some in a wreckin yard for about what it would cost you in gas to drive up here and back, not sure.

Re: new truck!

well im pretty sure it bickfiring throught the carb, and only at WOT when i stomp on it hard. and as to the leafs, thanks i might take u up on those, but the guy at the shop said i could take everyother leaf in my 3/4 ton pack out and itll make em a 1/2 ton leaf. also im goingto lower it just a little i dont know what type of drop but i want a very agressive muscle stance not a lowrider stance. so the front will be lowered more then the rear. please tell me more about the power valve?

Hey welcome to the best boards around from MT! Sweet looking truck as well The only time I remember having backfiring through my carb was timing was off somewhat.

Re: new truck!

Welcome I just joined a few days myself, As for the backfiring it

may be due to timing, too far advanced or just a little

retarded. What your combo 350 engine and 350 turbo is

size of your carbuerator and does it has vacuum secondary

or is it a double pumper. Take care of the basic first spark

plugs and wires. I run autolite platnuim 26 gap to .045 if

you have a high performance coil or anything gap to .040

I have build all kind of motors I always run the same plugs.

Good luck feel any ask question
