looks great. Just 1 tip before any body work install your door rubber to make your doors close! It took me 2 days to get mine to work.

I'm already having issues with lining up the doors, if there is a good write up on how to line up these door to get the correct gap, someone please let me know.

The best way for me to tell you is 1st align the window frame with the cab. Line up your body lines at the top and the belt line. Watch your top corner so it does not hit the top of the cab and center the door in that opening first. The body lines are more imporant than the gaps. You can close the gaps by welding filler in. I used a motorcycle lift to help lift the doors and hold them

This is for AD but the principle is the same. In the same section is other information on rebuilding hinges, installing and adjusting strikers, etc.

I used a floor jack and helper on mine, but I can see where a MC jack would be better. They are pretty cheap at Harbor Freight.

They are a pain to adjust, no getting around it. Lots of trial and error.

Thanks for the info, I had that site bookmarked but forgot about it, lots of useful information there.
I need to finish my hydroboost before I move on to another small task like lining up the doors, small task

Did you get a proportioning valve with your hydroboost unit?
I didn't with mine and can't get a good answer wether it needs one or not.
Do you now if it's built into the master cylinder or not?
I called a chevy dealer and the parts guy didn't show one for my unit.
It just seems odd it wouldn't have one.

I got one with my Hydroboost, I pulled the complete unit; MC, Hyrdoboost and Proportioning valve..

What did you get your unit from?
I went back to the yard I got mine from and none of the trucks had prop valves on them. The parts guy at the chevy dealership couldn't find one listed for an 05 truck. Now I'm really confused. I'll have to research a little more and see what I come up with.

I just noticed your firewall. Tell me more about it? It looks like you went all the way up with it. What did your use for metal? What did you do with the inner cowl? Get rid of it? Do you have any pictures of it along the way?

What I did is not the norm, I welded the seam on top from the inside and the shave the lip on the firewall to get it smooth then vut the firewall from 18 gauge steel and you know the rest, I also use some of the holes on the orginal firewall to mate with the new firewall by welding them together.

Since Kabwe, Kim57 and I talked about doing this mod and Kabwe did his I said what the heck, lets try it, here is my attempt at sectioning my hood.
Looking back I would make the cut line a little higher, this would create less work like adding little pieces of filler metal on the corners. Or better yet when cutting the bottom line, instead of cutting 1" take a about 1/2" when doing the corners. I also use those black maker lines to line up both top and bottom when tacking everything back together. Now it's time to take the hood off and finish welding then metal finish and do the brace. Do you see the slope?

Yeah, I want to do it too but with my tall air intake i can't. Yours is looking good, though. Try not to get addicted like Kabwe. Pretty soon you'll start dreaming of what to cut up next.

Well, I have a couple things that I want to do if this goes well but until then I'll try to get this done the best way I can, I'm still learning so next time I can do it better and cleaner.
BTW: No one cal be like the Professor Kawbe.

Not too much to report, just been doing stuff around the yard: tearing down and building a new BBQ island and little things with the truck. I still need to finish the hood, Hydroboost and install the drop spindles before moving on to other task.

I got 20x10" and running 295/35/20, I wish I could get some 12" wide wheels because I have a lot of space between the wheel and the frame.
