Re: Air Ride Install - '69 Chevrolet SWB Stepside
hey tcb-1 love the truck so far i was wondering what PSI you normally run in the front? been looking at the d2600's for a while and wasn't sure if it would be higher then other bags since it maxed out at 600 PSI
thanks and looking forward to seeing the tubular a-arms |

Re: Air Ride Install - '69 Chevrolet SWB Stepside
tasian,
man, that's a good question. I'm not running a gauge on the bags yet, so I have no clue where I'm at psi-wise. I really like my Dominators. they are built well and are priced great! good luck on your build. if I can help you in any way, pm me.

Re: Air Ride Install - '69 Chevrolet SWB Stepside
ratty,
yep, that's what I was attempting to do. I tried making this a simple, bolt on build since most folks do not have the plasma cutter, the air tools, and have mad weld skills. I wanted to demostrate that anyone can install air ride. it's just a matter of money and sweat equity.

Re: Air Ride Install - '69 Chevrolet SWB Stepside
So ..... Doug .... cuase I got the trick Lincoln 275 Precision TIG welder, the Millermatic 185 welder, the Lincoln ProCut plasma cutter, a Packard Mill, a SouthBend lathe, a set of rollers, a planishing hammer, tons of air tools, beater bags, hammers & can actually use them all mean I can't do a "basic" bolt on cheapy project?? (LOL)
The tools allow me to do these kind of things: Just ball bust'n .... I dig your intentions and I applaud you. Again - great work. Ratty 46 |

Re: Air Ride Install - '69 Chevrolet SWB Stepside
Doug .... its obvious that you do not need all those trick of th week tools .... I do.
Here is some air ride for ya: Not to hijack but my stint (now retired) with GE didn't harm my ability to extend my skill set. Although I was not a welder or machinist I didn't hesitate to utilize the equipment!!! Cleaned up & installed: One of my cheapy bike builds ($6500.00 total): Hey I got tons of these .... Enjoy. Re: Air Ride Install - '69 Chevrolet SWB Stepside
Thanks .... I do oil tanks, exhaust pipes, seat pans & bracketry for bikes, trucks, rods, etc. Most for fun ... some for money.
As you can tell from the name ... I'm building a pro touring/Bonneville styled '46 ford coupe. My other ride is a square body crew cab dually. Seen in that section. I just parted with a '78 SWB Chevy stepside. Also a bike that was sent (SOLD) to a gent in Finland ...: not as cheap as the buellster but just as kewl. Re: Air Ride Install - '69 Chevrolet SWB Stepside
No need ..... I was the one that sat & read YOUR progress thread .... you are the man - really. To do so much with so little (in a good way) & then put it out for people to dissect ... you are DA MAN.
And not to bore you guys .... my latest build project - which kinda stalled till I get the '46 rolling again: Also .... if anyone wants a kewl purge tank or something I do hire out cheap. Ratty 46 |

You don't want that old thing .... big tire bikes are out now ... or they say. Plus the front end has been updated to this:
So I'm not sure it'd be worth that much!! Ratty 46 |
