progress on my 71 GMC LWB

i made some progress with my pickup since the last time i posted pics. i painted the engine compartment, the 327, headers intake, carb, etc.. didnt take before pics though, believe me when i say it was a greasy mess. lol its amazing what some pressure washing, scrubbing, degreasing and painting can do for an engine compartment( have to get the right blue to touch up fenderwells and firewall. the motor and trans only have like 5000 miles on them but the trucks been sitting for a LONG time like off the road for about 4 years till now. got the bed sanded down to bare metal and primed ready for bodywork, not alot of rust but alotta small dents. i got my repro tailgate from LMC. the fit was ok. i see what u guys mean about thinner sheetmetal than original but its all i can afford right now.
