72 rear suspention
Is it possible to convert from trailing arms to using rear leaf springs?If so what is needed?

Yes, it is. Look under a 67-72 GMC to find out what is needed or maybe the LMC catalog has some diagrams of the needed brackets, etc.

I've heard of people wanting to go from leaf springs to trailing arms... but not the other way around...

Anything is possible. I'm not sure if there are factory holes in the frame that allow the hangers and shackles to bolt up, but you would need of course the leaf springs, front spring hangers, rear spring shackles and brackets, u-bolts and spring perches. It wouldn't be too hard. I could go over the details if you are REALLY going to do it. Why do you want to convert?

Would a 4x4 have the right hangers to make this change or are the frames different ? just a thought

wish you were closer, i have the whole setup rearend and all from my 71 GMC. i went the other way (to coils/trailing arms).
