Classic Parts vs LMC, Brothers, Ecklers, Manes
Does anyone have any feedback regarding Classic Parts from Kansas City versus LMC, Brothers, Ecklers, Manes et al?
The reason I ask, if Classic's prices are much better than everyones, just concerned maybe there are quality/fit issues due to lower cost. Specifically, I am ordering my fender badges, mirrors, and poly cab/radiator mounts for my 72 c10 LB and totals out to $274 with Classic. LMC next cheapest ate $359. thanks! |

they all order from the same couple of Manufacturers. you could compare prices to some board vendors here like. gmcpauls.com, classicheartbeat.com and mikesbumpandgrindgarage.com

Re: Classic Parts vs LMC, Brothers, Ecklers, Manes
LMC has been good for me, Brothers took over a month to deliver my parts and didnt want to be bothered by my questions as to why it took so long. I havent used any others yet ,but eventually will. I have had so so luck buying used parts on here ,seems lots of used parts get damaged during shipping and you are stuck with it.

If you go to the toolbar at the top of the page, click on "Home" and you can scroll down to vendors. There is a list of vendors who support the site and build trucks. They generally have as good of pricing as others and build trucks so they have great customer support. On top of that they help support the BB.

Re: Classic Parts vs LMC, Brothers, Ecklers, Manes
i am lucky enough to live near one of the board vendors and have decided to have my business done strickly with him......no more big corporate giants that dont give a ****e about me or my truck.....i would say support the guys that CARE about you and your rig.......been hearing alot about the quality of tri plus doors over othewrs so i asked my vendor {WES @ classic heartbeat} what doors Counterpart Automotive sent me and he said it could be 50/50 triplus, said the window channels would be wider on the lesser quality door......went home and measured the channels and sure enough one is wider than the other,so i guess i got at least 1 tri plus door.....sure wish i knew about WES before i started this build, could have saved myself alot of extra work among other things......im not trying to sell you on WES justtalk to these guys they are like you and I only wiser

Re: Classic Parts vs LMC, Brothers, Ecklers, Manes
LMC and Classic are both good to me.. I actually find that LMC is usually is couple blucks cheaper.. but classic has cheaper shipping.. so maybe it balances out.. the only issue that i ever had was classic drop shipping a part and not telling me it would take 4 weeks.. both good places to deal with.

Re: Classic Parts vs LMC, Brothers, Ecklers, Manes
Classic Parts has been good to me. I also have ordered once from Mikes BG, it was a large order and most of it came quickly (all parts drop shipped from Tri-plus). The rest took a month from the time I placed the order to get here (drop shipped from Goodmark). I haven't decided if I will order from him again, his prices are pretty good.

I use the Truck and Car Shop in Orange CA and they have been pretty good to me. No issues yet. Usually have the best price around.

Re: Classic Parts vs LMC, Brothers, Ecklers, Manes
to tell the truth Ive ordered from both and both were good to me, I had quit using LMC though due to classics and brothers better prices, Its always been little stuff I ordered though, no body parts like fenders, doors, arms etc.

Re: Classic Parts vs LMC, Brothers, Ecklers, Manes
Manes will tell you that they carry only the best fitting parts, and which parts do not fit the best, They have good prices. LMC has been fine but the replacement panels sucked. Both shipped quickly and reasonable.

Sorry about that. All of our employees walked out and quit with no notice and it was just me working trying to get everyones orders out.Everyone is back and we are a happy family once again.(more $$). Sometimes we drop ship an order to get the parts out quicker to the customer if we are missing some. I messed up on this one big time. MIke |

Re: Classic Parts vs LMC, Brothers, Ecklers, Manes
well i did use classic parts mostly, but i'm not real happy with at this time. got off of phone with them today checking on a order. it will be the middle of june before they have the part i ordered.i ordered on 5-3-10. only reason i don't cancel is cause of price 1/2 of everyone else.

Re: Classic Parts vs LMC, Brothers, Ecklers, Manes
My experience:
GMCPauls and Classic Heartbeat: excellent service and good parts. No complaints. I've even called the guy at Classic Heartbeat at least three times with basically the same question. He answered it each time and was completely courteous. LMC: mirrors and handles were crap. Bad chrome I guess. Tail lights were great. I generally avoid them though. Classic Industries: I bought a front end bolt kit from them. No complaints (so far) but it would have been nice if they labeled the bags the bolts came in. Truck and Car Shop: seems like a good company. I plan to order more from them. Eric Van Winkle: junkyard and body man in Montana. Incredibly friendly and helpful guy. You can't go wrong with him. I have only bought a fender off of him but he's supplied tons of advice every time I've called him. Deep soothing voice and friendly personality, he could have been a radio personality and a household name! 406 325 2427 Tuckers: bought some gaskets and hood rubber bumpers from them but haven't used them yet. Most parts I have bought from board members in the "Parts Forum" section. |

Re: Classic Parts vs LMC, Brothers, Ecklers, Manes
Stay away from LMC mirrors I agree they are absolute garbage. Bought a brand new rear view mirror and it broke in my hand while adjusting it after I installed it. Haven't been too fond of Lmc quality on some of their parts.

Re: Classic Parts vs LMC, Brothers, Ecklers, Manes
Manes has awesome customer service and the owners run the company and know these trucks backwards and forwards. When I ordered rebuild parts for the doors on my 72 I made a mistake on couple of items. They called me to verify I knew what I was ordering....which I didn't. Who does that anymore in this day and age? I've ordered from some of these other vendors as well but Manes will be getting all my business.

Re: Classic Parts vs LMC, Brothers, Ecklers, Manes
Classic Parts all the way for me. Had a small blip with an order and without question they sent out a new part. Items are packaged well and prices after shipping are usually the best. Eckler's messed up an order and also packaged items poorly. Called them 2 x and they were not very knowledgeable or helpful.
