Tilt Column Switch
My 71 has the factory fixed steering column. I have a donor 1987 Suburban, will the title from that bolt into the 71? What years work?

Re: Tilt Column Switch
Also my truck came with from disc brakes but it does not have a power booster. Will the suburban power booster work? What are the guys who are swapping to LS motors using for a power booster?
Thanks again. |

Re: Tilt Column Switch
if you want it bad enough, both of those parts will fit, but neither is a direct swap.

Re: Tilt Column Switch
Is there an oem chevy or GMC tilt cloumn that will fit? What about the 73 and newer steering column is it a direct fit. I'am trying to upgrade to a tilt and save some money also (poss pull one from a junkyard).
Thank you! |

Re: Tilt Column Switch
the only direct fit ones aren't cheap... the stock ones for these trucks.
After that, some old RVs had one that was a direct fit, but very hard to find. After that, the common 72-81 van tilt, minimal mods, dirt cheap at many junk yards. It looks very very close to the original truck units too. I'm sure someone has a link to the needed mods |

Re: Tilt Column Switch
So is the majority of the people on the site using a 67-72 tilt column? What about the one brothers makes?
http://www.brotherstrucks.com/prodin...number=RTSC72A http://www.performanceonline.com/sto...at=1108&page=1 http://www.earlyclassic.com/catalog.aspx The one from ECE says it is for 1969-1972, why wouldnt it work for a 67-68? My truck is registered as a 71 but has 67 front end and doors. Anyone know the difference. |
