NEW PROJECT: Questions about '72 C10

Just got a '72 C10 Fleetside Shortbed (Pics to Come), almost no rust, with a HOT 350 but this is my first project with a Chevy this old. So I have some questions, any help or advice is mucho appreciated.

1. Best place for parts online? (i.e. door panels, new gauge cluster, etc.)
2. I have a bench seat but would like to put in buckets, what would be a good fit without to much modification?
3. Best place for suspension parts?
4. I need some new carpet, how do you know it's a small hump or large hump? It's looks pretty small to me, but how do I know for sure before I order carpet.
5. If anyone knows a good custom shop around the Upstate of South Carolina it would be much appreciated. I am still fairly new up here and all the work I've had done in the past was in FL.

Thanks to everyone for any info.

Re: NEW PROJECT: Questions about '72 C10

I'll try to answer your questions as best I can. Here goes;

1. For stock replacement parts check with the board vendors (i.e. GMC Pauls, Classic Heartbeat, Brothers, etc... most prices will be equal amongst them.)
2. For suspension pieces- I have used both Early Classic and CPP and have been pleased with both.
3. A "low" hump will be integrated with the rest of the floor and is about 3-4 inches tall-a "high" hump is actually a seperate, bolted on piece and is closer to 5-6 inches high . If I recall the big hump only came on big block and/or four-speed models...don't quote me on that, I could be wrong.
4. To get buckets without any modifications- look for a set of '67-'68 "Buddy Buckets". You'll pay for them, but are a direct bolt in. Another choice is "Procar" low-back buckets with the mounting brackets that fit our trucks. Beyond that any other type will require some degree of fab work to get them mounted.
5. I'm in Oregon, so I have no advice for a reputable shop in S.Carolina!

Re: NEW PROJECT: Questions about '72 C10

First off from NC....

I agree with what dingfodgy said....other options with buckets would be some out of a 71/72 truck....they are individual seats with a console in between....

What kinda custom shop you looking....I'm not aware of any since being from NC, but maybe visit the regional forums here....http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/f...p?f=117...some local guys may be able to help....

And of course....we love pictures....please post shortly before the picture police show up
