Inline 6 valve covers
I was wondering if anyone has ever seen a valve cover with the raised chevrolet script on it for the 250-292. I saw an older model one like a 216 or something and I was thinking I would rather have something like that than a chrome or aluminum one. Only thing is all the 250-292 covers I have seen are plain with maybe a sticker on it. Guess if they never made one I can't have one huh? If so I guess I'll go with a Clifford or Offy.

Re: Inline 6 valve covers
235/261 covers 54-62 had the script on them. I have never seen a later six with the script, but there is no reason why yours couldn't be the first. Have a laser cutting outfit cut the script out of brass sheet. Buff it so the top corners are rounded and solder it onto your cover. After painting, it should like it grew there.

Re: Inline 6 valve covers
Early models of the L-22 series L6s had the raised script valve covers. '63 to '65 or '66. When GM started painting the sixes in Orange, the covers got plainer.

Re: Inline 6 valve covers
They're out there. I'm running a chrome plated one I found at a swap meet several years ago, which I think was an option on the Nova's. I agree with 68OrangeSunshine they were found on the early to mid 60's.

I've got a chrome one on my '67 pickup and and painted one that came stock on my '63 Biscayne.

Re: Inline 6 valve covers
He said he would ship it to me, but Ive emailed him several times. He always says i forgot, or I need to get it boxed up and stuff. So i figured if he wanted to sell it bad enough he would email me when he was ready, because i'm not going to beg for somebody to sell me something.

Re: Inline 6 valve covers
My '63 230 has one, and most everything on this truck is original.
I was thinking of using a cast Offy, but I've come to realize how cool the original is, I'm about to have mine chromed. good luck with your search, they're out there somewhere.

It might be a little used, but it's a factory original and has the script.
