those are rod doors panels. Pre-molded plastic and you just cover them in your choice of cloth, leather, or vinyl. I just happen to have a pair I'm not using now

thats what im trying to do. the only thing i could build them myself with is wood. if i had a rod panel i could build something off of that. make my own design with.

Re: custom inner door panels .. anyone??

I will take some pics tonight and post them here. They are molded ABS but like mentioned you could accomplish the same thing with wood. The Rod doors attach with a heavy duty 3M backed velcro and then of course the door and window handles and armrest help hold it in as well.

I think he is trying to get ideas of what his options are. We all know how to Google, but that doesn't tell you how or what to use.

It's sad but true that Rod Doors is no longer in business. Fortunately their website is still up. It is very informative, so you can get some ideas from there- www.roddoors.com

Did they come with the armrests like shown on roddoors site? I was always curious about that and was thinking about getting a set of them along with the rear panels they made for my Blazer.

funny you think i need a imagination.. im imagining your a bit of a $$$ right now. i know how to "GOOGLE" and i didnt ask for google tips. whats the point of this site if i cant ask people what they've done, and get ideas. if someone has a set of rod door panels they dont want i would be happy to buy them instead of spending hours and hours making them. i would rather drive my blazer then work on it. cheers

I gotta agree here. I thought "CDOWNS" comment (at the least) would put someone on the Defensive. Personally, I don't have the skill to make my own Door Panels, but if I was in this situation, I'd STILL have to buy these panels and then I'd STILL have someone ELSE do the Material Work.
"Blazin".......if you need some help, I believe I have contact info for a guy in AZ that does just about anything you want with a 67-72 door Panel, with Cloth Material (and depending on the degree of dificulty) they're around...
$150.00-$300.00 a set if memory serves me right (its been a long time).
E-mail me privatley and I'll hook ya up if need be.

Re: custom inner door panels .. anyone??

I love the door panels in my truck (my truck is the top picture). I'm glad I was able to get a set before the business shut down. I don't know how I would ever be able to make door panels that nice otherwise.

If you can score a pair GET THEM!!

Re: custom inner door panels .. anyone??

Those panels are super easy to install! Pre fit them BEFORE you have them covered. That way you can trim everything that need trimmed, then pick a material and go to town with 3M Upholstry adhesive!

I did mine. Not really to custom but no one else has them. They aren't perfect but for a daily driver they will do.

Bought the board at a local uphostery shop. Cut the holes I needed then covered them. I used the Christmas tree's to keep it in place the screw were temperary while I fitted everything.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
