Re: what is this??

Yes its a tcs solenoid, Its an emmsions part to retard the spark till your in high gear and it should no affect the operation only the emmisions of the engine. The trans reaches a certain pressure it closes a switch on the trans that sens juice to that solenoid and opens the Dist to vacuum andadvances the spark.

More detail on the stalling and speed thing may be helpful.

Re: what is this??

I am not sure the TCS relay would cause this. Most of us have had the TCS system disabled or removed on our trucks, without any issues.

I had a issue with my fuel pump. It was bad and I changed it but put the filter in the usual place after the pump. Well the trash in the tank wiped out the new pump, sand stuck in the rubber valves, So I put a filter before the pump, cleaned out the tank and all has been good so far. So I would test it to see if it builds up pressure and holds pressure

Keep in mind that a diaphragm (mechanical) fuel pump has a much better time of pushing fuel through a filter rather than pulling it. They don't draw strong on the suction side but they do push very well. That's why it's set up this way from the factory. As soon as the filter gets just a little junk in it, you may start to lean out. The previous owner of my Dodge Charger made this mistake and the car would lean out under heavy throttle. After two fuel pumps, the only way for me to fix this was to clean out the tank really well (it wasn't rust, it was dirt due to an open vent), get all of that sediment out, put a breather element on the vent, replace the sock on the sending unit (which was missing), and close it back up. Then I moved the fuel filter to the pressure side of the pump where it's supposed to be. Problem solved.
