Re: What did you get done 6/14/10 world cup soccer edition

I got lucky this weekend!

Found a NOS hood still in the GM box on CL, picked it up Saturday morning!

My "Off Shore" hood flexed the first time I went to close it, hasn't been right since. The hood doesn't flex at all with the springs removed from the NOS hinges. With the springs, junk. I'll get the new one painted sometime in the next 2-3 weeks and have my pinstripe guy do it up.

Re: What did you get done 6/14/10 world cup soccer edition

I continued working on my rear four link. I had my first open house today and it went well.

I may go back into the garage and try to finish the upper links this evening.

Later,
Jon D.

Got the rearend of the Blazer in & lowered, but couldn't bring myself to get much done on the front...It's too d@mn hot & humid here in the deep south! Might try and at least get the frontend apart tonight so I can sand blast the control arms and center link tomorrow, but no promises

Got all the O-rings in my A/C system replaced, installed a new accumulator and orifice tube, and then found out the compressor is fried. Low side/High side are exactly the same with the compressor running. Yay...

Off to buy a new compressor/condenser this week.

Re: What did you get done 6/14/10 world cup soccer edition

I haven't posted on here for a while because of everything that has been going on with my family. I have been heavily involved with my daughters Senior activities. It started with her Senior Prom, then after Prom party, followed by a weekend at the lake.

Then on Memorial day, we celebrated her 18th birthday and attended the viewing of my Pop (Father-in-law). Tuesday was the funeral, then Thursday was Graduation. Friday we had her Grad party, then Saturday and Sunday attended several Grad parties.

This week was a little slower as we only had a wedding, birthday, and two Grad parties. Between all that I managed to sour the local nurseries and locate some shrubs to replace the ones I lost to a hard freeze this Winter.

So, with that all that out of the way, I managed to spend most of the day in my back yard working on my landscaping. It still needs a few gaps filled, but I did get some awesome new Hibiscus planted.

The only thing "truck" related I have accomplished is finally buying a copy of the July Street Trucks. My 77 Cheyenne has a Tech Article in there covering the installition of the Ride Tech air suspension. I was pretty pumped since the lead photo they used was one I shot. I even got photo credits. Not anything truck related...my wifes grandmother passed away on thursday so we've been in charleston all weekend...been driving around in the little escort that we have all weekend and talking about how tiny it is inside, it's a two door and we have a two year old and a two month old...we might be selling both of my squares and getting a powerstroke dually not quite sure yet...I had planned on putting a cummins and a/c in my crewcab, but it's alot of work and if we buy a stroke all I have to do is drive and enjoy it...decisions decisions

Finally after rebuilding every single thing I ever bought from Harbor Freight,...
I got to try out my new A-frame.
I pulled my '68 GMC cab from it's lwb frame.
It fit perfect on my homemade cab dollie.

I put the cab in the "WIW Section".
I'm thinking about selling it.

The Heat pretty much whooped my butt all week at work so i spent all saturday inside enjoying the cooling. Today i did some sanding to the 84 and started gettin ready for a camping trip coming up this weekend. The wife aint working so its kinda hard to do anything to the truck rite now. Money is very tight rite now but, its like the wife says "God dont give you more than you can handle".

Picked up a set of buckets and center console out of a 79 blazer for one of my trucks I've been searching for months only paid 100 for the set. Picked up my bench seat from the upholstry shop. Going to wait on sending the buckets to the shop as they are going to be 200 each to redo atleast.

Re: What did you get done 6/14/10 world cup soccer edition

pulled all the stock fuel hard lines out and replaced the feed line with braided hose and -an fittings.

the stock fuel line had started rubbing on the headers some how and caused it to burn through.... SO lucky it didn't start a fire.
its all good now though and will be easier to plumb once i get a fuel cell installed

I got the transmission pulled out of mine and the pump out. now I just need to get a new pump and throw it back in. And I continued with sanding the body down to metal so I can fix the dents. and killing as many bugs as I can. This heat is ridiculous to try to work in.

Haha, close but not true. I had a small tumor and some scar tissue back there. The funny thing is, I tell everyone it was the wife's way of keeping me from working on my truck and car
