Re: fremont cali truck
Just curious...
I have always wondered how many assembly lines our trucks had at the Fremont facility? Kinda wanted to know, so that I could further break down my burbs VIN#. Was there one line for the burbs, or multiple lines?

Re: fremont cali truck
Thanks! It is proof that it is easier to restore something that was fairly clean and straight to begin with. No rust repair to speak of.
Speaking of Fremont trucks, one of my old company rides was a 1979 C-2500 built at Fremont. It had a 292 6 cylinder, Turbo 400 trans., power brakes but no power steering, A/C, or radio. Miserable to drive, but you couldn't kill it!

Re: fremont cali truck
My brother's truck may have Jim beat, It was built in fremont, shipped to dealer in oregon and now lives in western north carolina. It is a custom camper 4x4, original engine and trans with eaton 4.10, evidence of at least three tanks including the in cab unit. Pretty cool that the truck has crossed at least two continental divides in its life and is still going.
