72 Factory A/C vent housing
What is factory correct for the side A/C vent housing, Body color or black? I always thought they were supposed to be body color, but have seen so many black ones and been told by some with black housing that they were original.
Thanks, Bill |

Re: 72 Factory A/C vent housing
usually, body color.
Sometimes, they were the trim color (dash pad/door panels/seat) Sometimes, black. |

I think the black housings are replacements or repops that never got painted. My 72 has the originals and they are body color.

Re: 72 Factory A/C vent housing
I have seen quite a few black ones, but not sure why certain vehicles got what. They are black in my 69 (med red truck) and blue in my 71. (same as body)

Re: 72 Factory A/C vent housing
A lot of Highlander equipped trucks in 72' and Cheyenne Supers had black a/c housings. Typically if they had tilt columns, but there has been documented cases where there were no tilt and still had black a/c housings. Never really remember seeing pre-72's with black housings, but suppose there could be. Trevor

Re: 72 Factory A/C vent housing
My 72 Super has the Parchment interior, and it has black a/c vents, black seatbelts, and a black dashpad. It also has tilt column, with the black wheel. This is how it came from the factory.
