custom 4link question
what are the benefits of having a 4link with the parallel bars on the outside of the frame rails vs having them on the inside of the frame? less wheel hop? axle wrap?
thanks |

Re: custom 4link question
The farther apart the axle control is, the better the stability. This includes locating bars/links, springs, & shocks.

Re: custom 4link question
ok, so stability. but for a low weekend cruiser how will less stability effect me negatively? more body roll? will i have to keep more air in the bags to stay more stable therefore sacrificing ride quality?

Re: custom 4link question
Mainly the only difference for you will be that you can run a wider wheel and tire by running the 4 link on the inside of your frame instead of the outside there will be no difference in ride quality

Re: custom 4link question
oh great points. i didnt think of that. but ill be running somethin slim and simple for wheels.the reason i was thinking of running the bars on the inside was to be able to mount my tanks on the outside of the frame and a fuel cell behind the rear end therefore giving me space for a sub behind the seat.
thanks for the insight! |

Re: custom 4link question
I remember one time I seen a bagged silverado at the store and he had his link bars mounted outside the frame and I can see his bag in the wheel well. easy to cut for someone that wants to hate on ur ride. that would make me feel really uneasy. I know its nothing to do with ride quality..but its something I would think about
