Re: Got some new wheels: Boss 338's in 20x10 and 20x8.5
yes, i am talking about the seat on the acorn and the shank on the may style. So your saying use the acorn seat for the lugs on the Boss 338?

Anyone know what size the studs are? I know its probably been answered many times....but since we're on the subject of lugs I figured I'd ask!

I don't think they are acorn so I would look on the box or call boss.

Re: Got some new wheels: Boss 338's in 20x10 and 20x8.5
I called Summit to order my lugnuts, and had them check on the style before I ordered. The guy told me they were acorn style.
Edit: just called again and was told the same thing by another sales guy. So, acorn style it is.

Re: Got some new wheels: Boss 338's in 20x10 and 20x8.5
I think it was the temporary wheels I had on my brothers truck that were mag style. Sorry for any confusion!

I gonna be nice but if you would like my number I'd be happy to chat with you. I have been on this board for 9 years and have given some really good advice. If you look at my post I never said its definitely not acorn and I corrected myself in 15 minutes. Did you not see me say sorry on the post before your smart comment. You might also reread my original post!

Re: Got some new wheels: Boss 338's in 20x10 and 20x8.5
People are cutting down the tabs on the center caps for the front 18s (and pre-rev-3AA 20s). There are pictures somewhere in this thread, I believe.

I can barely see 'em. What a waste -- better send them to me.
Looks great, Hickup!

Re: Got some new wheels: Boss 338's in 20x10 and 20x8.5
Thanks to picks from Hickup Pickup and a little R&D I think I have retooled the front rotors for my son's 86 Silverado. I am going to make a drawing and post it here too. Just in case anyone else buys some of the older revisions of these rims. Hopefully all this works, I will post results this weekend.
Here is what I did: Step one test fit (nope not even close). Step 2 build a "spindle" fixture: Step 3 Started cutting the rotor: Step 4 Test fit the wheel till I came up with this: Step 5 Cut off the dust cover, made some new end caps, welded up and painted to finish. |

Re: Got some new wheels: Boss 338's in 20x10 and 20x8.5
According to Sublvr72 "group buy thread",... the new -3AA wheels need the same "rotor" mods as the old -2AA wheels.
So what exactly did AE do when they re-tooled these wheels?

Re: Got some new wheels: Boss 338's in 20x10 and 20x8.5
IIRC, the hub bore is larger in places, but not where it needs to be for our older trucks.
