Expensive Hauling or Towing ?
What is the most valuable thing you have hauled in or behind your truck ?
This picture is of one of our 1 Tons hauling a 1949 Alfa-Romeo 6C 3000CM, I am sure it is the most expensive piece of equipment ever sitting on one of our beloved trucks....... |

Re: Expensive Hauling or Towing ?
When Intercity moved my 67 stepside from Florida to Arizona my truck was all the way up front so these had to be unloaded first so I guess you could say they were hauled behind my truck :

Re: Expensive Hauling or Towing ?
Thanks for the story & pictures, you live in a beautifull place ! I would have thought more members would respond with a picture or a short story over the 4th ? We need more human element threads about our trucks, restoring them and talking about the nuts and bolts gets old after a while
I sold Ferrari's in new England back in the 80's boy what a car ! |

Re: Expensive Hauling or Towing ?
The most valuable cargo I've ever hauled was my wife, son and daughter. That can't trump the most expensive but nothing's more valuable.

Re: Expensive Hauling or Towing ?
Depends on how you define "expensive" . My most "expensive" haul was nine loads of hay (6300 lbs each, a total of 57600 lbs) two miles at 30 miles an hour in my '87. Most gas I've ever burnt through in one day, and hottest I've ever felt the 700r4 through the floorboards. And, as it turned out, most taxing on myself as the hay wagon shimmied like a cheap hooker starting at about 20mph.
As for hauling anything expensive, I can't compare anything to that gorgeous Alfa.

Re: Expensive Hauling or Towing ?
Thanks for the stories guy's ! yes your family is a lot more valuable than any old car, even a rare sports car. I would guess that the deck is a 1 off, I saw the photo posted on the tdf sports racing web site, great old photo's of day's gone past. keep the stories coming.

Re: Expensive Hauling or Towing ?
I havent hauled anything of value with my truck ,its mostly just daily transportation until I decide if Im going to restore it or just keep driving it as is. It is just a beater with no payments at the moment ,but I do love it.
