This was on my 250six. It was attached to the top of one of the manifolds near the carb. it has two vacuum lines and an electrical connection. What does it do?

That would be part of the TCS (transmission controlled spark) It a was controlled by the trans and allowed vacuum advance only in high gear and when engine at operating temp.
