Where to get gas tank supports

well, CPP failed to tell me that my supports were on backorder, and while I sit here waiting for them today, they have no Idea when they will show. What other options do I have. Where else can I pick these up, would I be just as well to try to fit a blazer tank in? I'm so freakin ticked I feel like I just can't make progress on this thing.

I THINk classic may have them, last I checked lmc did not.

raybuck automotive does and ebay. I bought a set from ebay, be warned the factory has a welded nut on the inside near the tank and the bolt threads into from the frame, the new ones do not, gotta try and get a nut in there and hold it while you start it on the bolt. Or have some nuts welded on. I still have them in a box, haven't got around to putting them on yet.

Funny you should post that. I just got off the phone with orange truck (in Orange ca), and ordered a set. I asked the receptionist there to make sure they were in stock before I ordered them (brothers kinda did the same thing to me with a dashcover so I learned my lesson). They were in stock, but I ordered a set for a blazer since I'm swapping in a 25 gal blazer tank. Give them a try though, they seem like a really good shop.

I've already got the straps, I'm looking for the steel mounts that bolt to the frame.

Also, your local chevy dealer should be able to get them for you in a day or so.

yeah, they could, but they wanted like 100 bucks a piece for them. called the local big three salvage yard and they have them for 25 a piece in good condish. heading down in the morning

BUT, I do understand if you can get them for $25each, why not. It also saves you at least a day going that route too.

The dealer is going to want around $75 each (at least around me) It took a lot of searching to find them.

you guys are lucky, local gm dealers here, NOTHING for anything past like the 90's nadda, not even worth the phone call or breath to ask the question.

yeah, I called a local dealer last week and he seemed baffled that I would want part for an 87. He said they were probably discontinued... I swear, if it aint on the microfiche, it must not exist...

Haha, I hear ya. Some parts guys just will not go out of there way to look anything up without a vin number. I have been thinking about starting up a GM part number thread. Just something that I could do for people that want OEM part numbers for stuff, free of charge. Anyone think they would benefit from such a thing?

I definately would have in the past, I had to call around and find a gm part no. for a front and rear spring hanger, front for 4x4 and rear for 2wd, then needed gas tank brackets and control arm, who knows what might come up in the future.
