Rear glass question.
This is going to get moved, im not sure where else to post it. 09 super duty ford with a broken back window, does anyone know how to change the glued in glass?

It is urethaned in. It will have to be cut out, and another urethaned in it's place. You can cut the old one out, but a glass shop will do that for you. The glass is the same from '99 up, I would just call a glass shop. It shouldn't be too bad.

Haha cash for clunkers huh. Thanks for the help! I have to do it myself because the deductible is extreamly expensive.

Call a local body shop and a local used car lot, ask them who does their glass work. Give 'em a ring and get a price, chances are they'll come to you and do it in your driveway or parking lot where you work.
If it's anything like here, there are dozens of glass guys running around trying to undercut the next guy, just to get the job. Modern glued in glass is not something the average do it yourself should even try to tackle. The windshield and back glass are considered to be part of the structural integrity of your cab. |
