Before I make any comments, is that your wife?

Re: What did you get done 7/11/10 edition

She appears to be a Tilted Kilt employee correct? This weekend I purchased and installed a couple of new hoses that were needed for my engine...i've ALMOST got it ready to attempt and crank...I need a couple more little goodies and then hopefully she'll run again...I also removed my step bed and started disassembly...that thing has more rusted/seized bolts than I ever imagined...it will definately be a lot of work...I also finished repainting my valve cover and clearing it, it turned out pretty good...hopefully my inliner will be road worthy again before I die. =]

Re: What did you get done 7/11/10 edition

Got rained out of my side job Sat so I figured I'd get the overdue starter and A/C work done on my '97 GMC. I got conned into taking the family to a waterpark with some friends instead. Got a little more sun than I'd planned.
Made up for my day off on Sunday, had to powerwash a huge WHITE driveway in the morning with no drainage, then in the afternoon had to go repair & resurface a big pool deck. I use xylene to clean my tools. Sometimes when I'm paving a drop of it will get on my pants and onto my skin. It burns a little. Sunday I found out what it feels like when it gets on sunburned skin. I think I could have taught old salt sailors a few expressions when that happened.
Made some extra money but got nothing done on the trucks. Before too long the opposite will begin.

Re: What did you get done 7/11/10 edition

Joined the 67-72chevytrucks.com forum.

1) Started a build thread for my 78 Silverado.

2) Replaced my 78 Silverado's fuel pump all by myself, the first thing I've done with zero in-person assistance, thanks to this forum and the wonders of the internet.

3) I also correctly diagnosed a carburetor problem (again thanks to this forum and the internet) and royaly impressed my engine machinist uncle with what I had learned and correctlky deduced! Probably one of the proudest days of my life.

4) Decided the first thing I would do to start working on my truck was replace the suspension and body mountbushings with Energy Suspension 3.18109 Hyperflex Master Kit.

Thanks. I picked up from Wal-Mart the copy of the mag your truck was in. Beautiful square body. So few people restore the 73-78's in my opinion.

Many that do put the straight line 80's model fender's on it and get rid of that beautiful L-shaped drop down! :-)

I'm tired of the 67-72's always stealing the glory!

And thank you a ton for this forum N2TRUX.
I don't know if you're the owner or just a VERY active moderator, but everytime I search for something to do with my C10 (or anything for that matter) 67-72 comes up!

Re: What did you get done 7/11/10 edition

I drove 8 hours each way to visit family. Did a little fishing up the middle, but didn't have time to do anything else.

Read about it here.

So, what did I get done? Added a third truck to the stable!

1978 Silverado 1/2 ton (restoring)
1978 Silverado 3/4 ton (making run for work truck)
NEW: 1979 Blazer 2wd (family hauler!)

Re: What did you get done 7/11/10 edition

I finally had an ALL truck related weekend! Saturday went and traded title for title my car trailer I've had for 10 years; for this 89 Silverado Suburban 454/th400/14bFF trailering package!!!!!! Made the 2 hour trip home with no issues. Mainly going to be an RV hauler. Monday picked up this 85 Silverado extended cab. Found this one several weeks ago looking at RV's. $1000. later it's mine. Pulled it home on a 2 wheel dolly! NOTE: JUST BARELY FITS! Swapped the skinny's on for more clearance and needed it!! Hopefully a steering column swap will bring it back to life. I'm very excited
