Is there a company that makes the spare tire fenders for steppers or do i have to get out the die grinder?

I don’t know of any company that makes a spare tire fender

Your best thing to do is find a used one, just make sure it’s for the correct bed that you’re using (short or long bed) there different. I think there would be way to much work to create one. Also get the spare tire mount with the fender they can be a little hard to find some times.

I didn't realize that the fenders were different. I have a long bed stepper that i plan on making a shorty... thanks for the info.

nope, no company repops the spare cutout. most folks ditched them for a cleaner look, but I have become a big fan of them. one down side though........ you have to 5 nice rims and tires for the truck. doesn't sound like a lot, but it adds up!

The overall fender size is the same from short bed and long bed it’s just the cutout that’s different for the spare tire and the mount is different also.

i was always under the impression the only difference between a long and short step bed was the steps themselves ... not the fenders.

I know what you mean about a clean look but not having a spare when you need one sucks! I hate seeing my vehicle on a tow truck. I think it sets our truck even further apart from the rest of the pack.

Personally, I have always liked the side mounted spare. A lot of people respond positively to mine. Does add to overall expense though.

I like the idea of carrying the spare. But the mount like said before is difficult to find along with a decent cutout fender that isn't rotted out on the fender mounting flange.
