Thumbs down Need Help!!

Hey everyone im new here and got a problem with my 87 c10 and cant seem to figure it out :/

I got a 350 TBI and it seems like fuel isnt reachin the fuel injectors. We changed the fuel pump about 3 times and only once it ran for about 20 minutes and died. We also changed the throttle body, injectors, and fuel filter but still same problem. Anybody have an idea on what it could be??? thanks for the help

Re: Need Help!!

I agree, check the pressure. Without a pressure check, are you even certain it is a fuel issue? If it is, it could be as simple as a clogged line, or ???? I have replaced many parts in the past that didn't need replacing, just because I assumed I knew what the problem was. I hope, for your sake, this is not the case, but tools like a $17 Autozone vacuum/fuel pressure gauge can save you from unnecessarily spending 20x more.

Re: Need Help!!

on TBI trucks there is a fuel line from each tank that goes to a control unit under the cab that has an electric box which connects to the switch on your dash for pass/driver tank this box switches the power from left fuel pump to right(or vica-versa)and switches a valve inside as well. after the box there is one supply line that runs to the filter and then to the throttle body and then a return line

I have never heard of it happening but i can easily see how the control box could malfunction and leave you with niether left nor right fuel tank supply and thus no fuel at the motor

Hope this helps

I have dual tanks. The fuel will come from either the left or right, and go through a single common filter before heading forward to the engine compartment. At least in my case, a clogged filter would have same effect regardless of which tank I selected.

Re: Need Help!!

chances are that if it was something the computer controls you would have a check engine light on... ig the computer itself was fubar it could not....again check pressure first.. clogged injector or filler tube... improper switching with the dual tanks either in the switch or the valve.. there are thousands of things it could be
