Got my seats :)
Stole some Third Gen Firebird buckets with the lubar supports and adjustable leg supports off my cousin since he's not using them in his Camaro rebuild (the bird was a parts car).
I'll be cleaning them up this evening and seeing how good the fabric is, it seems allright except one tear that's allready been stictched up ... unfortunately its quite visible, but I'll probably get new fabric for them eventually. Actually, if I took the covers off, would they be allright in a washing machine? Or would they shrink or fall apart or anything? Anybody know? The next trick will be the installation, any tips on getting them to fit decently and mounting them in the truck? And what about seat belts, I'll probably need new ones since my truck just has a bench atm... |

Well, yeah, the binary is a pita
Anyhow, anybody know of a place online where I can order new covers for ONLY the front buckets. Everywhere wants to sell the entire package and I just want new covers for the fronts. Preferably leather. |

Gibble,
My mistake. I take it all back! Your post appeared so repetitive that I made the assumption you were copying Pardue <g>. Brian |

I checked JC Whitney, they didn't seem to have anything that would work, notice the adjustable leg/knee section at the front.
They are AQ9 adjustable lumbar seats. ps No worries Brian Last edited by Gibble; 06-02-2003 at 02:29 PM. |

Wow, these seats are a PITA to take apart.
This was all I accomplished after 20 minutes. http://home.webifyit.ca/pictures/_NE.../misc_0274.JPG (Warning, it's a big picture) Oh, and in my defense I also have the back hinge on the other side taken apart, it's not just the track :p |

why not take them to an upholstery shop and see what they charge? We did some like those a while back for a mustang and yeah its not very fun to take them apart and reassemble.

if anyone is thinking of the swap they have power front tilt, rear tilt, fwd rev, air lumbar and manually adjustable side wings i picked up mine for 45 canadian and the best part is the fact that you only need to make one extended bracket for the one corner the other 3 mounting holes fit fine! babbled a bit but im pumped!

Heh, scarface, I just may have to do that, I spent another 20 minutes trying to get the cover off until I got fed up and did other things, I don't see how it was physically possible to get these seat covers on...but I will figure it out eventually...then when I can't get them back on I'll go to a shop :p
