Brakes not wanting to bleed.

I put a New Master Cylinder and New Wheel Cylinders on all four corners of this truck and for some reason I cant get the front to bleed properly. I bench bled the Master Cylinder till there were no more bubles and then started the bleeding process, starting with the farthest wheel away and worked my way back to the Drivers Side front. I did put Booster on to make it power Drum Brakes and Im wondering if that could be part of my problem. It seems like I get them working ok without the engine started but when I start the truck it seems like the pedal wants to go to or close to the floor. Then if I let it set for anytime it seems like the brakes go away in the front. Has anyone had this problem before? Thanks For any Help you can give with this.

I had a lot of issues with my brakes to. Go back and tighten all the hoses again. I had one that just needed a 1/8 of a turn more to get it to work.

Same issue here when I replaced everything at once. I think I had a clogged line. I ended up taking the line off of the axle and blowing them out a little and put them back in. After that, I got my father-in-law to help push the brake pedal when I was under the truck and it eventually worked. It took so long though.

Stick to it and eventually all of the air will come out. Good luck!

Had similar issue. Check the bleeders first. Mine were full of gunk.

I know this is stupid, But are the bleeding screws on the top? If not they wont bleed out the air. That is,, you could have them on the wrong side and therefore... upside down.

Doesn't putting a booster on change the length of the rod you need between the brake pedal and the booster/master cylinder?

Perhaps you have issues there.

I had the exact same problem the other day, I kept trying to bleed but the pedal just had no pressure at all and air kept coming out. I took the calipers apart and my seal has a little hole in it. Actually the first one had a little hole in it, ordered new seal, went back home and took the other one apart. That one had a huge tear in it so it that seal should be in today. I had just reran new front brake lines and had no idea where it was coming from, got lucky at the begining of my troubleshooting!

We found the problems!!! 1. Being me not adjusting the brakes out far enough on the front drums causing the pedal to not have enough travel to apply the brakes all the way. 2. Found a small leak in the Drivers Side front flex hose where it attaches to the Wheel Cylinder, Very Small Leak just gave the fitting about a quarter turn. I talked with WES at Classic Heartbeat in Olympia Washington this morning and he clued me in on the Adjustment of the brake shoes. He is like an encyclopedia of experience on these old trucks and he has a way of Explaining how to fix them that Even the most inexperienced person can understand. He's been a big help to me putting this thing together. Thanks to all that have responded and have helped get past this brake problem.
