Re: 69 c10 engine question

if the spid (option sheet in glove box) says nothing about the engine, and the second digit of the VIN is an E, then your truck came with a 307.

ed70,
Did you run your Engine Casting Code? If its 3814660 then its a 327 (250HP Truck Version) and if you cant find it on your Glove Box Sticker then there should be a stamp on the front of the engine (Cant remember which Side but I think its on the passenger side) that you can break down and should give you all the details of the engine and the vehicle that it belongs in. If the Engine hasn't been Decked then it should be on the protrusion on the block that sticks out in front of the head. I bought my Sons 64 Shortwide and found that someone had replaced the original engine with a 69 327. Its a great engine and so far I have had no problems with it (knock on Wood).

I would still get the numbers to find out for sure. Small blocks all look quite similar visually.

Re: 69 c10 engine question

Was there no SPID on the glovebox door at all or did it have one but not anything about the engine on it?
