freakin tailgate
which side of the pivot bolts should i remove to get this damn thing off or do i need to remove both sides? does it sound right that one side may be rusted in place? i removed the driver side and i couldnt get it i ran out of light before i could get the passanger side let me know what you think

To get mine off I just unlatched both gate chain things and then unbolted both pivot points from the bed sides. Came right off after that.

Theres 2 bolts in each pivot, mine are rusted in place, sheared off. And of course you can't get a drill in to drill them out on the bottom bolt. Good luck with yours.

its been a long time since ive had my truck but isnt one of the cups cut out like on my 91 so you can just lift the gate off from the one side and remove it ???? if not then ya have to put the gate down and use and extension to remove the bolts. PB BLASTER on the bolts and they will come out (99% of the time)

Both sides need removed. Some ppl here will aregue, bu if it is original, then you need to do both sides.
