Tailgate Repair Questions??
I just bought a tailgate that needs to be patched up and the handle does not work I have another junk tailgate that has an operating handle. Is there a thread that shows someone taking a tailgate apart and welding one??

No welding necessary. Just take them apart and make the switch - they just bolt in.

there are three (3) bolts that hold the handle to the tailgate. there are (2) rods that connect to the back of the handle and connect to the side latches. remove the rods from the handle. the side latches are bolted in with 2 bolts each, and you will be able to pull these out, once the rods are disconnected from the handle..

i cant recall if the rods are the exact same length and bends, so i would mark them top, bottom ( from handle) and left and right (latches)
